From humble beginnings on Mead Street in Kalamunda, we've grown into something much more than a physio clinic. We’ve become a local hub for allied health - offering physiotherapy, clinical exercise, Pilates, massage and rehab services that support our community to move better, live stronger and stay connected.
It all began in the year 2000, when Jason and Wendy Wells made the move from Adelaide to WA. While Wendy headed across the Nullarbor for a new start in media at WA Parliament, Jason was on the sidelines – literally - helping athletes at the Sydney Olympics. Soon after, he joined Bill Barnes in Kalamunda and not long after that, Mead Street Physio was born.
Like many small businesses, we’ve evolved through seasons of growth, partnership changes, and even rebrands, always with the goal of providing care close to home. In 2008, we became Mead Physio Group. And from there, we expanded across Forrestfield, High Wycombe and back to where it all began in Kalamunda.
Over the years we’ve welcomed new faces, team members and clients who have shaped what Mead Physio Group is today. We’ve added programs like ONERO for bone health, GLA:D for Osteoarthritis, Neuro Moves for Parkinson’s and Clinical Boxing for Autism and movement disorders. We’ve opened new studios, consolidated others and stayed committed to offering allied health with heart.
And we’re not done yet! Next month, we open our latest space: a studio in Kalamunda Mall dedicated to targeted, specialised programs that address the needs of our ageing population and those living with neurological or developmental conditions.
We’re proud of how far we’ve come and even prouder to still be here, growing with the community that helped build us.
