What is Osteoporosis?

Osteoporosis is a common condition affecting around two in three Australians over 50. It occurs when bones lose strength and structure, increasing the risk of fractures, often in the spine, hip or wrist.

These fractures can lead to pain, reduced mobility, and loss of independence, and there are often no symptoms until a fracture occurs.
